Best Low Carb Protein Bars
Let’s face it. We all love a good protein bar. Years ago our options were limited and we usually had to settle for a Met-Rx Big Colossal Bar which unless we were bulking, usually wasn’t very macro friendly. These days there are plenty of macro friendly protein bars and some of them taste damn good. Quest has been making some of the best low carb protein bars the past couple years but there are quite a few new bars that have come out that even taste better. While we love Lenny & Larry’s Protein cookies as well, we decided against including them on this list as they technically are not ‘bar’s’.
So we’ve decided to compile our list of the best low carb protein bars based on factors such as taste and macros. Macros, of course, being the amount of fat, grams, and carbs each bar has. We will be looking at net carbs which is the total amount of carbs minus fiber and sugar alcohols. This isn’t going to be a debate about sugar alcohols either, as that can be an article in itself. Check out our list below and be sure to comment below which one is your favorite.

10. Pure Protein Bars

Best Flavor: Chocolate Salted Caramel
Macros:
- Net Carbs: 11g
- Fat: 5g
- Protein: 19g
These are probably the most affordable option and they taste pretty good and have good macros. You can get an 18 pack for about $26 which is less than $1.50 per bar. We find them easy to digest and don’t leave any aftertaste. These are definitely a great on-the-go meal option.
9. Pure Protein Plus Bars

Best Flavor: Mocha Brownie
Macros
- Net Carbs: 5g
- Fat: 7g
- Protein: 21g
These taste a little bit better than the regular pure protein bars and their macros are slightly better as well. We personally like mocha brownie and cookies and cream just don’t get apple pie lol. Trust us on this one!
8. MuscleTech Mission1 Clean Protein Bar

Best Flavor: Cookies & Cream
Macros
- Net Carbs: 5g
- Fat: 7g
- Protein: 21g
We’ve been having these bars for a while. Not only are they great tasting but they are a little bit more affordable than other brands. A pack of 12 will run you about $18.99 which is only $1.67 per bar. Very affordable compared to buying them at your gym for about $3 each lol.
7. Power Crunch Protein Bar

Best Flavor: Peanut Butter Fudge
Macros:
- Net Carbs: 9g
- Fat: 10g
- Protein: 13g
These bars fit perfectly into any IIFYM meal plan. They are also great on the go. They have enough calories to hold you down for a couple hours without leaving you feeling stuffed. We recommend consuming these between meals if you are looking to gain weight and as a lunch meal replacement if you want to lose weight.
6. FitJoy Bars

Best Flavor: Chocolate Iced Brownie
Macros:
- Net Carbs: 13g
- Fat: 8g
- Protein: 20g
We like these FitJoy Bars mainly because they taste good and aren’t full of sugar alchohols which seem to give us upset stomachs when we eat too much of them. They are sweetened with Stevia and use no artificial sweeteners. We don’t see too many gyms carrying this brand, so you’ll probably have to order them online. A pack of 12 will cost about $28 dollars which is about $2.33 per bar.
5. MusclePharm Combat Crunch Bars

Best Flavor: Cinnamon Twist
Macros
- Net Carbs: 12g
- Fat: 7g
- Protein: 20g
Our favorite thing about Combat Crunch bars is the crunch morsels. While these are a little bit chewier than most bars, if you’re a fan of snickers then you will love these. Our other favorite flavors include Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.
4. Grenade Carb Killa Protein Bar

Best Flavor: Chocolate Cream
Macros
- Net Carbs: 2g
- Fat: 8g
- Protein: 23g
Besides the cheesy name, these bars are fairly new to the market and are taking it by storm. Some people will argue that this protein bar should be higher up on this list and we don’t necessarily disagree. They’re sweet but not too sweet, crunchy but not too crunchy, and chewy but not too chewy. Hands down, the best flavor is Chocolate Cream.
3. Chef Robert Irvine Fit Crunch Bars

Best Flavor: Peanut Butter
Macros
- Net Carbs: 9g
- Fat: 16g
- Protein: 30g
While these do have a slightly higher fat content than most bars, each bar is a decent size and is more of a meal replacement bar than a snack bar. Our personal favorite is the peanut butter flavor although the chocolate chip cookie dough is a close second. The coolest part about these bars is that they were created by TV Personality Chef Robert Irvine. The guy actually lifts himself and we got the chance to meet him years ago at our gym as he was in the area filming an episode of Restaurant: Impossible. Let me tell you the camera doesn’t do this guy justice, he’s actually pretty jacked.
2. Quest Nutrition Bars
Best Flavor: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Macros
- Net Carbs: 4g
- Fat: 9g
- Protein: 21g
Some will debate that this should have been number 1. Quest has been one of our favorites for a long time. Mostly all their flavors taste great (although some taste better than others) and if you heat them up 10-20 seconds in the microwave, they taste like heaven. They’re readily available at gyms, grocery stores, gas stations, etc. but if you buy them 1 at a time, they usually go for about $3 each…ouch. However you can pick up a pack of 12 for less than $24 which is less than $2 for some of the best low carb protein bars.
1. OhYeah! One Bars

Best Flavor: Birthday Cake
Macros
- Net Carbs: 5g
- Fat: 7g
- Protein: 21g
These are hand down the best low carb protein bars period. We were even skeptics ourselves but once we had them delivered to our corporate offices, we were hooked. If you’re looking for the best tasting, macro friendly bar, look no further. Our favorite flavor is birthday cake but we’re also big fans of Mint Chocolate Chip and Almond Bliss. Most people say that the almond bliss tastes like a healthier version of an Almond Joy. The best part about these bars is that they are soft and you don’t need jaws of steel to eat the whole thing lol.
