When it comes to our nutrition, we all had to start somewhere. We read blogs, watched youtube videos, and asked our buddies at the gym. Some of the advice we were given actually helped, but most of it was bullshit. Some of the advice was probably handed down from other gym bros who have no clue what they are talking about.
Either way, we’ve compiled a list of the worst broscience tips we’ve ever been given. You might still believe some of them in which case you we’re here to tell you otherwise. The best diet is the one that is will get you the results you want but without having you go to extremes. For some people this might mean cutting calories from carbs while for others it might mean cutting calories from fat or whatever your case may be. The best tip is to find out what works for you!
Check out our infographic of the 50 “BEST” nutrition tips and be sure to share it with your friends. Hopefully by time they get to the 5th tip, they will have the knowledge to have realized that they are all b.s. or go to dieting extremes for example like tip #40 that says “never eat bread.” I can’t count how many times I’ve heard from the bodybuilding community that since bread is processed, it makes it a simple carb which is “bad” for you. This is the kind of stuff I hate seeing as it gives the wrong message out to people who might not know better.
Or #23 that says “never eat high fructose corn syrup.” While high fructose corn syrup isn’t necessarily good for you, that doesn’t mean you should never eat foods that might have trace amounts in it like bread or peanut butter. A healthy diet is one that you should be able to maintain over a long period of time. If you can’t imagine eating the way you’re eating right now for the rest of your life, then you may be going overboard with your “diet.”
